SEO is a season, not a single match. Even in the age of AI
I revisit a metaphor from 2020 to explore strategy, continuity and measurement: the work no single change can complete, including in AI search.
Notes
Experience from day-to-day work: real cases, design choices, problems encountered and technical decisions that show what really changes when building a custom website.
I revisit a metaphor from 2020 to explore strategy, continuity and measurement: the work no single change can complete, including in AI search.
The new website looks more modern. Its source, Lighthouse results and response headers still reveal a technical project that was not fully brought under control.
I searched for trainers and breeders while evaluating two breeds. AI helped me find them; their websites helped me choose whom to contact.
The target remains 100. A 98 or 99 is defensible only when its cause is verified and the compromise genuinely serves the project.
Pages indicate volume; templates, journeys, languages and features define the actual project and quotation.
One technical foundation keeps solved problems solved; identity, content and features are designed afresh around the real work.
92 species, 125 photographs and 69 prints governed by one bilingual architecture, from storytelling to e-commerce.
A working page is not proof of a system ready to handle real people, data, failures and responsibility.
Why I chose to show a private homepage before the quote and take on part of the risk before the client does.
Why I rebuilt my methods, offer and process after thirty years on the web, and what that changes for clients who entrust me with a project.
